We have added a monthly ”TEAM NIGHT” to the mix of activities for team members. This ‘once a month’ meeting will provide several benefits to all members. First and foremost, ‘Team Night’ will be set up as an informative club meeting for members to keep up with what’s going on (upcoming events, races & results, activities, discounts/deals etc.). Most of the info will also be covered in the monthly email newsletter, but some people don’t read the newsletter and others prefer to hear things in person. There will also be a segment each month dedicated to Training Talk. One of the EPC coaches will talk about training objectives for the month and how you can put them to use in your own training. Lastly, there will be a ‘Product of the Month’ presentation from a representative of a specific product brand that will show off the latest and greatest product AND offer a discount purchase opportunity on that night to those who attend. We are working on having some snacks & refreshments as well; so at the very least, you can come and meet some fellow team members, enjoy an refreshment, and get more involved! Also a great time to bring friends and training partners to see what we’re about, see the new shop and consider joining the team.
‘Team Night’ will be held every month on the FIRST Wednesday of the month from 6:30-7:30 pm at Adrenalin Cycles. The first meeting will be April 4th. Lots of racing coming up to talk about and get organized and more weeknight training being added to the calendar to discuss. The POM (Product of the Month) will be First Endurance Nutrition and we’ll have some free give-aways and good discounts to be had so you can stock up for the year! If you’re not already a Team Adrenalin/EPC club member you can still plan to attend. Meet some members of the club, see what we’re up to, and then you can consider joining  the club and making it part of your training and racing routine for 2012!

Mark your calendars for February 8th for ‘Team Night’ at Adrenalin Cycles.

The new shop in Highlands Ranch will open and all Team Adrenalin p/b EPC members are invited to stop in between 6-9 pm for a meet & greet of the Adrenalin Cycles staff, chat it up with fellow team members, and get some incredible discounts from the vendors that will be on hand to show off the latest and greatest products! This is the night to stock up on all the gear and equipment you need/want for your 2012 season as the discounts will be the BIGGEST & BADDEST they will be all year. Brands on hand thus far include:

  • Cannondale
  • Felt
  • Orbea
  • Giro
  • Shimano
  •  SRAM
  • Reynolds
  • Zipp
  • Ritchey
  • CycleOps
  • Continental
  • Schwalbe
  • PowerBar
  • First Endurance

Discounts will be AMAZING (either side of wholesale, depending on brands!), so start making your list, then making dinner for your spouse, cleaning up the house, and earning your ‘brownie points’ at home so you can reap the savings and get the gear you want!

Also available will be our NEW 2012 Team Adrenalin kits! You can try stuff on and buy what you like at great prices as well. DO NOT miss this great event!

Calling all EPC tri-roadies (and off-roadies)… Make sure to fit in some or all of these great events put on by Without Limits Productions this summer!

Team Adrenalin triathletes, mark your calendars and plan to compete in the club competition at these great races. Both men and women racers collect points throughout the series and contribute to our total club tally. $750 CASH PRIZE!!!

Team Adrenalin members, we need your help! Register as part of the club. 2012 is your year to: travel the state, race your heart out, and help your club earn top honors as the fastest club in all of Colorado!   Athletes will still compete in their age-groups – this is just an additional category to foster some good ol’ fashioned club compeition! Please fill in your club affiliation when entering each of the races. A list of club members will be posted at packet pick-up for each race. If your name is not listed as being a member of your club, notify the registration desk before the race. Changes will not be made on race day.

Here’s How it Works :

There are 5 races and they all count! The Steamboat Olympic, Harvest Moon Half, and Oktoberfest Championship will weight heavier than the first 2 sprints, but the tour is set up to reward consistency as well as speed! -The top 12 athletes on your club team will score points. The top 7 men / top 5 women (If less than 12 from your particular team race then you’ll just bank less points for your team tour total) – The Summer OPEN Sprint and Steamboat Lake Sprint will be scored 30 deep on the mens side and 30 deep on the womens side [Points: 1st place 30 points, 2nd 29 points, 3rd 28 points etc. etc.] – The Steamboat Olympic will be scored 30 deep on the mens side and 30 deep on the womens side [Points will start at 33 for first and go down to 3 points for 30th] – The Harvest Moon Half and Oktoberfest Championship will be scored 30 deep on the mens side and 30 deep on the womens side [Points will start at 35 for first and go down to 5 points for 30th]. Learn more and register at www.withoutlimits.co

We need all Team Adrenalin triathletes to compete (even you “off-road only” guys/gals that don’t normally race the road). No matter how fast or slow you think you are, we want you to participate! To make this even more fun, we will give these 5 events ‘priority status’ for the Team Adrenalin race support so we have a place to hang out after the races as a team and make the most of it. EPC coaches will also be putting together a Group Coaching Plan designed around these events that will be available to follow along with to make sure your training is on track! What better way to build our team spirit and get to race together all season long! This is going to be fun! Get yourself signed up and join the ‘Road Tri’ GROUP in the MEMBERS section of the website.

And to not leave out the ‘cyclist-only’ members, we are also planning Winter Park MTB Series and RME Series events, and Colorado Cup Series events for road racers. This team thing is going to be huge!

We have some great NEW (or returning) services to offer our coached athletes, Team Adrenalin members, and anyone else looking for some training assistance in 2012. The fantastic EPC Training Lab is just about finished and ready for it’s grand opening in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for more specific info and images of the LAB in a future post. Until then, here is what we have lined up for training service offerings…

  • Lactate Threshold Testing

Being able to accurately identify your training zones is a necessity to effective endurance sport training. Estimating your zones can get you started, but defining them through laboratory testing will ensure you are not wasting any time or energy at the wrong effort level. Training just a few heartbeats, watts, or seconds per mile harder than necessary can compromise your ability to recover and ultimately lead to fatigue and overtraining. Through testing your blood lactate levels at increasingly higher work rates (either on a Computrainer® or treadmill) we can pin point exactly where your transition from aerobic training to anaerobic training occurs, and subsequently identify your training zones. By testing periodically throughout your training season you can also note your progress in the terms of more power on the bike and faster paces on the run for the same effort.

  • Bike Testing = $100
  • Run Testing = $100

  • Swim Lessons

Swimming is often the hardest thing to learn when taking on a triathlon. That’s because swimming is much more than simply building aerobic fitness, as is much the case for the cycling and run segments. Swimming is much more about technique and being able to reduce your drag in the water and create a strong and effective pull. The best way to accomplish this is through one-on-one coaching with video review so you can see where you need to focus your attention to make improvements. Swimming in an Endless Pool® with mirrors allowing you to see yourself swimming in real time, along with video analysis, and a coach to help you identify your trouble spots is invaluable! After the sessions you will be armed with a better understanding of what you need to do, and the drills you can practice on your own between sessions to make the progress you have always wanted in the water. Training sessions are 30 minutes long and will save your video files in an online library you can store and access them on your own at home. READ MORE

As mentioned in a previous post we are creating a Leadership Team within the new TEAM Adrenalin, powered by EPC Multisport. Here are more details regarding the Leadership Team, and how you can apply.

In the past we have had what we called the EPC Elite TEAM, consisting of high ranking/high finishing athletes within the EPC club. The selection criteria was vague and the expectations were low. The new Leadership Team, will be open to all TEAM Adrenalin members, by an application process. There will be less emphasis on podium finishes and results, with more emphasis on what you bring to the team in terms of participation and function. The objective of the Leadership Team is to act as group activity leaders, mentors to the less experienced athletes and represent TEAM Adrenalin in a professional and well received manner. In return for their participation and dedication to the team, members of the Leadership Team will be rewarded with exclusive benefits from EPC, Adrenalin Cycles, and our sponsors.

  • Leadership Team member requirements, including but not limited to the following:
    • A commitment to lead at least ONE weekend group training activity a month in the winter months and at least ONE weekend and ONE weeknight workout a month in the summer months.
    • Participation in the majority of TEAM Adrenalin racing events (triathlon or MTB), and team events throughout the year.
    • Frequent participation in all group training activities, making yourself available to club members for questions and advice.
    • Wearing TEAM Adrenalin clothing at all group activities and events attended.
    • Participation in TEAM Adrenalin & Adrenalin Cycles promotional events held throughout the year.
  • Leadership Team benefits, including but not limited to the following:
    • The largest discounts from EPC and Adrenalin Cycles.
    • Personal Training plan assistance from EPC and inclusion of all group training activities.
    • Freebies & pro-deal purchasing from participating sponsors (Pearl Izumi, Shimano, First Endurance, Rudy Project, Schwalbe, etc.).
    • TEAM Adrenalin clothing.
    • more benefits in the works!

If being apart of the TEAM Adrenalin Leadership Team sounds like something you’d like to be a part of then here is how you apply:

  • Send us an email at info@epcmultisport.com with the following info
    • Name & email
    • Address
    • Years involved with EPC (at any level)
    • Occupation & typical work week hours
    • Your expected availability to participate with the team (ex. tues & wed nights, sat mornings until noon)
    • Your racing focus (triathlon, xterra, mtb racing, etc.)
    • Your top 5 endurance sport accomplishments you are proudest of
    • A brief paragraph on what you can bring to the Leadership Team position, why you want to be involved and anything else that may pertain to you taking part in the role.
  • We will be accepting application from now until December 15th. Decisions on the best fitting applicants will be made by EPC and Adrenalin Cycles staff by December 31st. We will contact every applicant to discuss their application, and recontact with the decisions made.
  • There will be 8-10 members selected for 2012. A near equal division between male and female is desired. Your ability to win races is far less important than you ability to participate and have a great personality!
