Cody will be hosting a 3-part conference-call series with Robert Kunz, owner and head of product development at First Endurance Racing Nutrients. Learn the ins-and-outs of endurance nutrition from a leader in the industry. Robert will cover the science behind how your body functions metabolically and what your body needs to perform at it’s best in training and on race day. The one-hour long calls will be held on one Wednesday each month in December, January and February. After the discussion we will open it up to listeners so you can get your nutritional questions answered!

Just found out about Magura’s new full-carbon hydraulic disc brake they’ve been secretly working on for the last two years! The carbon master cylinder is half the weight of it’s aluminum predecessor in the Marta line! I wasn’t given an exact weight, only told:  “It is only half the weight of aluminium and yet has tremendous tensile strength, somewhere between aluminium and steel. This makes it extremely resistant to impact and fracture. It has the highest fatigue strength under completely reversed alternating stresses of all known component materials. Its power-to-weight ratio (tensile strength/density) is twice as high as that of aluminium or magnesium and six times higher than that of steel or die-cast zinc.”

Available by spring, and I have no idea how much (I’m guessing not cheap). As soon as I get a pair, I’ll let you know how much they weigh and how they work. Having been riding Magura’s for the last five seasons, I expect nothing but top-notch performance and low, low weight! Can’t wait!

New Flavor of First Endurance Liquid Shot! Up until now, the EFS Liquid Shot was only available in one flavor: Vanilla. Luckily, the vanilla flavored shot is the best tasting gel/shot I’ve ever tasted! I haven’t tried the new Wild Berry flavor yet myself, but I’m sure it will be a nice addition to the training menu.
